POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Marine Service Writer to join our service department. In this role, you will act as a liaison between customers and our service team, ensuring that all service requests are handled efficiently and effectively. Your expertise in marine services and ability to communicate clearly will be vital in providing an exceptional experience for our customers.
Key ResponsibilitieS
- Greet customers and assess their service needs, providing exceptional customer service.
- Create detailed service orders, including descriptions of customer concerns and recommendations from the service team.
- Collaborate with technicians to understand the scope of repairs and maintenance required.
- Provide accurate estimates for repairs and services, ensuring transparency in pricing.
- Communicate with customers throughout the service process, providing updates on the status of their boats.
- Maintain organized records of service orders, invoices, and customer interactions.
- Assist in managing the service schedule to ensure timely completion of all work.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any service-related issues professionally.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in marine technology or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in a service writer or service advisor role, preferably in the marine or automotive industry.
- Strong understanding of marine systems and repair processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in using service management software and basic computer applications.
- Knowledge of boating safety and regulations is an advantage.
